Freezing will prevent the data on the expired tape from being overwritten
but your catalog tracking for it is going to get whacked. You'd have to
import the tape to get it recreated. I'm with Kate on this, change the
expiration date. See the "bpexpdate" command for this.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Court No-destroy on backups
I have backups on media that have a retention policy I will exceed sooner or
later. I asked
our support vendor a year ago about how can I assure that the data and
catalog stuff will not
go away on me. They said all I need to do is do a bpmedia - freeze -m
VOLNAME. Is this true?
Will the catalog data stay as well?
Thanks
