Being a command-line sort of person:
=20
bpimmedia -mediaid mmmmmm -U # where mmmmmm is the =
tape id.
=20
..I would think.
=20
If you really want to see what it on the tape, then=20
=20
bpmedialist -mcontents -ev mmmmmm # actually reads the tape
=20
(I really love the consistent parameter/option names in NBU...mind you I =
am working on an old level.
Maybe it's better in the later releases).
=20
You could approach it the other way, using bpimagelist, which can tell =
you the total size of the
image, and which tape(s) it is on, optionally (-media), but I don't =
think it can tell you how much is
on which tape, if it is on more than one. Might be interesting to see if =
bpimagelist numbers tie
up with bpimmedia / bpmedialist.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] easy way to see size of image on tape????
SO I'm doing some testing/troubleshooting of Exchange backups/restores
(full SG backup/restore, not mailbox level.)
=20
The Exchange Admins are telling me there is only 500Gig of data on the =
system, but I did a FULL restore yesterday of the 4 storage groups and I =
see the following in Activity Monitor:
=20
SG1 - 244977365KB
SG2 - 341111422KB
SG3 - 213863562KB
SG4 - 155591232KB
=20
Which adds up to ~900 Gig
=20
Browsing the Backup, Archive and Restore GUI, I see the following:
=20
SG1 - 162.5G
SG2 - 226.75G
SG3 - 99.9G
SG4 - 70.0
=20
Which is about 660 Gig.
=20
Why the descrepency?
=20
what is the easiest way to see what is on tape? The backup is expired =
from Activity Monitor, and therefore bpdbjobs.
I can't imagine NB could restore more tha what is on tape. Is the =
reporting wrong for the restore?
=20
