All,

Backup Exec not being one of my strong points, as opposed to NBU, I've tried
installing BEWIN 9.1 on an XP Professional W/S which is NOT IN A DOMAIN,
merely stand alone, and the device and media service WILL NOT START!. I get
the error "The database specified does not exist" although when I have a
look, the database files, and the backup files DO exist in the correct
directory.

I have trawled the web for ideas but to no avail, I have installed MDAC 2.8
again, deleted all references to MSDE in the registry and reinstalled dozens
of times, I've tried to install SP1 for BEWIN 9.1 but even that doesn't want
to install, instead it gets nearly to the end and then rolls itself back
saying it was "interrupted" half way through!!!!.

I am now at my wit's end... If anyone has any idea what could be causing the
problem, I'd be REALLY glad to hear from them.

Cheers,

Adam Mason.
