MessageHmm, I wonder if it was introduced on 3.4_3, I don't think I had
worked with any servers at _3 prior to moving them to 4.5

Nonetheless, it is *very* good information to have.

This did happen to me, in 3.4, patched to NB_34_3 - so maybe introduced
before 4.5...

  No, it's a new feature in 4.5 ;)

    DESIGNED THAT WAY? okay.

Hmmm...that's NEVER happened to me in 3.4.

    Thanks for the warning!

Warning! In 4.5.x if you delete the debug log for today, vmd will
crash at midnight (or one second after midnight). You need to delete the
log, kill vmd, and then restart it.

This is 100% reproducible. I opened a case with Veritas, logging this
as a bug...they came back and said "no, it's designed that way, it's not a
bug".

      The mind reels.

This is for advanced logging of the dev mgr daemons. I typically
use this only for troubleshooting. When all is done, I remove the directory
as it just adds overhead to the processes.

If you aren't experiencing any problems or need these logs for
troubleshooting, I would venture a guess that you would be safe removing
them and the directory as well.

          Hi there,

I find that there are a lot of logs under the directory
/usr/openv/volmgr/debug/daemon. Is there any use of this logs or can we
delete them.

          Regards,
