[Veritas-bu] Java GUI
2002-11-18 13:58:50
Hi Dale,
You are correct, NB 3.4 used to have the java gui for Windows. I called Veritas
about the Windows java gui for NB 4.5, unfortunately, it was not included.
Veritas told me they will be working on this feature on the next release. For
Windows, you can use the remote NB administration console.
On the UNIX side, you can customize nonroot access and used the java gui.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Java GUI
We just did an upgrade from 3.4 to 4.5. Looking at the java gui and the
Windows administrator gui there are things I like in each. But what I don't
like is that it seems the Windows gui does not know how to handle Unix restores
very well. Even the slashes are wrong in the directory structure. In 3.4
there was a java gui for windows that seemed to get removed in the upgrade. Is
there anyway to get that back and running on 4.5. Also the clients files on
the master for Solaris 8 have a version of 3.4.2 instead of 4.5. Makes it hard
to push the client files out for upgrade. The Solaris 2.6 client version is
4.5 though. Anybody see this?
thanx,
dale
