Ryan:
The best method for renaming a media id is to
ensure it is expired
dd the tape
bplabel the tape
I have found dd to be the quickest way to 'trash' the
NBU tape header. It doesn't sound like the tape header
was *really* relabeled. There is no real danger, just
an inconvenience really. This may affect some scripts
you have. For instance if in one of your scripts you
reference a tape by the -rv or the -ev, such as in
tpreq -ev MEDIAID -d DLT -p NetBackup -f /tmp/MNTFILE
or
tpreq -rv MEDIAID -d DLT -p Netbackup -f /tmp/MNTFILE
you may not get the results you are looking for.
Just something to keep in mind.
