It does.

# sgscan

/dev/sg/c1t6l0: Tape (/dev/rmt/1): "Quantum DLT4700"
/dev/sg/c1t6l1: Changer: "Quantum TZ Media Changer"

I've got lots of suggestions from lots of people, which I'm going to try out 
one by one.

I'm overwhelmed by the responses.
