I have to agree about the unwieldy names but they do work, and as such
are a "good thing".

However with recent Redhat versions, setting them up is an absolute
doddle. I do hope no-one's still using jbconfig now that NMC works so
well for this. You tick the "persistent names" box and it just does it.
Apart from the fact that it assumes you have a display about 20000
pixels wide.
