You seem to have mis-understood what I am doing, and where the data is 
coming from, and to where. There is no need for scanner anywhere, nor is 
there a new datazone or media db.

No, I can not open the file. That is the whole point. The security on the 
redirected recovery keeps the original security of the backed up files. 
And the original security only allows a specific user to access those 
files. And I am not that user. So in order for my user to access these 
files, I have to change the security. This change is what changes the 
timestamp. And this change is what I am trying to avoid, yet still be able 
to access the file.

What I want to do is a directed recovery, with the option to *not* recover 
the security on the files, specifically in a Windows environment. And I 
see no way to do that.
