Mark, you can view it with nsradmin, and it does work for 7.4 clients:

$ nsradmin  -i - <<AA
> . type: nsr client; name: ZZZZZZZ
> sho client os type
> sho networker version
> print
> AA
Current query set
              client OS type: Windows NT Server on Intel;
           NetWorker version: 7.4.Build.187;
