Hi
First off, I mis-spoke in my earlier mail. 'Use Persistent Binding' is
a STORAGE NODE attribute, not a jukebox attribute.
It works fine with jbconfig and inquire, too. That said, I'm not sure
how to answer your question. Since the attribute is set by storage
node, it's fine to use persistent binding with a VTL on one storage node
and 'regular' binding on another storage node.
Does that help?

Subject: Re: [Networker] Correlation between Linux udev rules and the
'Use Persistent Binding' attribute
Does this new feature work as well with jbconfig and/or a library that
has connections to many systems instead of having all the connections
(drives and robotics) attached to a single system?

automatically create persistently-named symbolic links in certain
locations (each distribution seems to be slightly different). NetWorker
for Linux V7.4 SP2 and later has been enhanced to look for several of
these locations and, if the jukebox attribute 'Use Persistent Names' is
selected, NetWorker will use these persistently-named symbolic links in
its configuration.
