I also have this problem. I am running Windows 2003 (32 bit) and
Networker 7.3.3. It only happens about once a week and it happens to
different groups and different clients each time. I opened a case with
EMC and this is what they told me would fix the issue: Change the
Networker server client parallelism from the default of 4 to 32.
I am not buying this "fix" but that is the type of support that you get
from EMC now. Has anyone else heard from EMC what might actually fix
this issue?

I had some problems with save groups hanging at the end of the cloning
process. I could work around it by unmounting both tapes, then the
software would re-load them and finish. After a little research in
Powerlink I found that I needed to change the Device parameter "CDI" to
"Not used" (from "SCSI commands"). That has cleared up the problem for
me.

I can confirm that i have noticed the savegrp hang, typically during
Index backup but sometime also on cloning and ndmp backups, i have not
checked
index backup tab on any of the groups.
Our environment is Windows 2003 64 bit & Networker 7.3.3, and i can say
our server is not that busy.
