Is it listed by FQDN? I just had an issue where I couldn't backup a 
Win2000 DC (stuck at "Contacting Client"). The server name was listed in 
the servers file, but only by name, not FQDN. Setting FQDN solved the 
problem, and I was able to back it up.

Perhaps that's indicative of specific network problmes of mine, but it's 
something to try.
