Ok, been running networker 7.4 build 187 for just about a month now and
here are some thoughts.
Server is windows 2003 sp2.

Dont upgrade unless you have the enabler code AND the authorization code,
learned that the hard way. and thanks to emc for being quick about getting
me the auth code :)

The new gui:
I kindda like it, although it does take a few more clicks to get around
than it used to.
and the reports, is it just me, but who makes a report tool where you cant
design you very own custom reports....

But I do like the increased details in general, good work on that.

The server part:
Well well....
I upgraded with the LGTPatch7669 to solve the missing savegroup lines, but
that resultet in my nsrd proccess just dying after 1-2 days resulting in
backups not running... so patch is off now and I got a more stable system
by the looks of it.

but its still acting wierd. Right now I wont save the indexes after
backup, just saying contacting client, and thats the server itself..
And I have save sets that fails mostly with errors like this "RPC error:
RPC cannot encode arguments" and then without me doing anything they run
fine the next time.

So I wont call 7.4 build 187 super stable. and if you can wait with an
upgrade do so :)

just a few thoughts here on a 7.4 upgrade. which in itself was pretty
easy.
But check your tape libs afterwards make sure they are still proberly
configured
