check once if you do not install 32bits clients on a 64bits OS.
I met same problem with system state failing while other
system db/files, ASR, c:\ and other drives were ok.
If you run 722 server, you can install 731 client/storage node
on the 64 bits clients/sn without probs.
hope that helps

Subject: [Networker] clients fail on some parts of system state backup
Hello -- I have some clients that regulary fail to backup on some
components of the the system state backup. the clients are win2003
backing up to a solaris server running networker 7.3.1 jumbo 11.
What can cause portions of the system state to fail. The error message
says that the VSS is not in the correct state.
An example from one server is that the VSS System Boot and VSS System
Services fail every night. Another example from both nodes of a win
cluster is that System Boot and ASR disk fail every night.
Any ideas on how ot overcome theses VSS error messages?
Thanks
