It is true that you do get one stream per volume. However, if you have 4
volumes and 4 tape drives, you can get 4 simultaneous streams. From my
experience (YMMV) NDMP seems more efficient at moving the data across the
network vs NFS. Also, with NDMP you are actually backing up a snapshot,
so it is done at the block level which means no open file issues.
