According to information I received from Legato many months ago is that indexes 
AS FROM V6 are just ordinary files and can be backed up and restored that way. 
The important fact to consider is that this is only valid for version 6 and 
higher.

Guy,

I didn't catch your original posting so I don't know if you're working on
UNIX or Windows.  If it's UNIX, the following may be helpful.

I've found it makes life a lot simpler to take a separate backup of the
NetWorker filesystem to DAT tape using tar, after a successful NetWorker
backup of course :o)  Despite postings to the contrary tar does actually
work, I've recovered NetWorker's filesystem then been able to start up
NetWorker and recover data from NetWorker tapes.

Using this method I can have NetWorker back up and running within an hour,
no need to spend hours on mmrecov and nsrck!
