Sorry I didn't reply..

We're running 6.1.2 now and so far its the most stable for us.
Specifics:
Solaris 8, ATLP3000 library.

I do have hotfixes installed (disclaimer; your mileage may vary etc):
LGTpa36541 (nsrmmd) tapes lost during cloning
LGTpa35985 (nsrindexd) marking file for recovery takes a long time
LGTpa40674 (recover broken, -s must be specificied) place on all clients.
