I should have clarified in my first email that I am going to take off the recycle option. Initially I wanted recycling so that the disk space being used for the backups will stay fairly constant(besides incrementals) since the volumes are recycling but this will cause my labeling format of the dates to not match up correctly since some backups do not perform when there are no changes to the files(incrementals) and dates get skipped. Therefore instead of recycling I want to have bacula delete the old volumes based on my retention(30 days).

Bacula Users,

I am looking for bacula to automatically delete volumes older than 30 days. I'm not sure bacula is capable of deleting the actual volumnes or if I should write a script and have it run after the catalog job(last one each night). I am not using a tape drive, I am writing volume files to my server's hard disk raid. Here is my POOL resource in director config:
# File Pool definition
Pool {
  Name = NFS
  Pool Type = Backup
  Recycle = yes                       # Bacula can automatically recycle Volumes
  AutoPrune = yes                     # Prune expired volumes
  Volume Retention = 30 days          # one month
  Recycle Oldest Volume = yes
  Maximum Volume Jobs = 1
  Label Format = "NFS_BACKUP_${Year}-${Month:p/2/0/r}-${Day:p/2/0/r}"
}

Is there a way I can change the resource so that volumes will be deleted? If not a simple script should do the trick right?
Appreciate any responses.

Thanks,
