Is that possible you start implementing ipv6 ? If yes it will be used by default. Just check the mailing list archive about it.
The dir/sd Ubuntu server has IPv6 enabled, but the problematic Windows server does not have IPv6 at all. It's not default in Windows 2003 Server.
