Hi!

I'm not sure I understand what exactly your probelm is. But if it is a
client which just never finishes with a backup, I'd issue the command
  stat client=<name-of-the-client>

That should show you what it is doing currently and what file is being
backed up right now. If it get stuck on a particular file you might want
to check out that file on the client side.
