Greetings!

I've been working on adding automated Verify jobs to my configuration. I'd like
to abuse my tape drive as little as possible, so I have the backups set to run
as a group, then the verifies set to run at a later time as a group.

On a normal weeknight (like tonight), I have two Incremental jobs for each
client, backing up two different FileSets. The Scheduled queue in the Director
status for tonight shows my normal Incremental jobs, apparently sorted by
client, starting with the last client in the config file and going backwards to
the first client. These jobs are set to start at the same time.

After this section I see the Verify jobs listed. The odd thing is that the list
begins with the verify for one fileset only, listing that job from the first
client in the configuration file to the last, and then lists the other verify
job from the last client to the first. This will cause a ton of tape movement.

What I was hoping to see would be that the backups would proceed as normal,
both jobs for each client, then the verify jobs would follow the same pattern,
so that the tape used would only need to rewind and move forward one time.

Here's a sample of what I see in the Director Status:

Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client4Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client4Homes SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client3Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client3Homes SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client2Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client2Homes SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client1Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client1Homes SSLI-064
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client1Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client2Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client3Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client4Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client4Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client3Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client2Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client1Nikola.Verify

Here's a sample of what I would like to see:

Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client4Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client4Homes SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client3Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client3Homes SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client2Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client2Homes SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client1Nikola SSLI-064
Incremental Backup 10 30-Jul-09 21:00 Client1Homes SSLI-064
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client4Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client4Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client3Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client3Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client2Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client2Homes.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client1Nikola.Verify
VolumeToCatalog Verify 10 30-Jul-09 21:45 Client1Homes.Verify

Any ideas or suggestions? Does anyone know the algorithm used to queue the jobs?

Thanks!
