I'm sure I'll feel like an idiot when someone points out the obvious, but my
frustration runeth over . . .
I've had Bacula (3.0.1) running fine with the default configuration on my
Ubuntu Jaunty home file server. I wanted to add a second client, so I took this
opportunity to rework the config files closer to some sort of standards for
better housekeeping.

I repeatedly get the error:
"Device "LocalFileStorage" with MediaType "Local_File" requested by DIR not
found in SD Device resources.
10-Jul 15:10 Server-dir JobId 73: Fatal error:
     Storage daemon didn't accept Device "LocalFileStorage" because:
     3924 Device "LocalFileStorage" not in SD Device resources."

Now I've been through the docs so much I can recite them in my sleep and this
error seems pretty straightforward? The device cited in bacula-dir.conf is not
matching what is in bacula-sd.conf. Since I've cut and pasted values so many
times, as well as having both files open beside each other, I'm hoping someone
can spot the error as I sure its likely a simple typo?
bacula-dir.conf:
. . .
# Definition of file storage device
Storage {
  Name = Local_File_Storage
# Do not use "localhost" here
  Address = XXXXXXXXXX # N.B. Use a fully qualified name here
  SDPort = 9103
  Password = ************"
  Device =LocalFileStorage
  Media Type =Local_File
}

Storage {
  Name = DAD_File_Storage
  Address =XXXXXXXXXX
  SDPort = 9103
  Password = "***********"
  Device =DADFileStorage
  Media Type =DAD_File
}

bacula-sd.conf:

Device {
  Name =LocalFileStorage
  Media Type =Local_File
  Archive Device = /disk02/backup_archive
  LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media
  Random Access = Yes;
  AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it
  RemovableMedia = no;
  AlwaysOpen = no;
}

Device {
  Name =DADFileStorage
  Media Type =DAD_File
  Archive Device = /disk02/DAD_backup_archive
  LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media
  Random Access = Yes;
  AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it
  RemovableMedia = no;
  AlwaysOpen = no;
}

I must be a bonehead and I really like this app, but it has gotten the better
of me and my kids are staring at me as the old man talks (really cusses) at the
monitor.

Thanks you very much, Tim.
