Hello,
Thanx for the reply Zed
Master. I was able to change the Volume retention period by using update pools
command.
But now the only problem
left is , how do I make use of the tapes from other pools to our odd_week and
even_week pool ? If pools can pick tape from the "Scratch" only, what if I
move
the tape from one of the
unneeded pools to Scratch. Will it work that way? And if yes ...what to do
next??
Plz help.
Thanx.
Hi,
1 > I don't think it's possible, pools can only pick tape from the
"scratch" one... to be confirmed.
2> After changing Retention period n
the pool configuration, you have to execute an "update pool" command from the
console in order to update existant tapes. If not, only new tapes will use the
new value of the property.
Hope this will help
you
Oliv

Hello,
We are having Fujitsu Tape library with 2
magzines enabled with 23 Slots + 1 I/E slot. Recently we are falling short
of the space in volumes for our daily backups.

Can we make use of the volumes defined
under special_backup and system_files pools , in the odd_week and even_week
pools?
2> Secondly, we used to have 120 Days of Volume Rentention
period
# Default pool definition Pool { Name = odd_week Pool
Type = Backup Recycle = yes # Bacula can automatically recycle
Volumes AutoPrune = yes # Prune expired volumes Volume Retention = 120
days # 4 Months
Which we changed to be 90 days (3 Months) , but still
the "Last Written" and "When Expire" differs by 4 months (Please see above
output). Why is it so?
Any help is really
appreciated.
Thanks, admin
