check tcp connection timeout settings on the firewall/router. Some 
routers/firewalls have low timeoutes set - for example a ZyXEL 2802HWL-I1 
seems to have 9000 seconds timeout for established AND active nat tcp 
connections (changeable by telnet - not by http interface)
