Not really... no longer than before.

How long is "too long"? Is this configurable?

No, I just happened to watch it happen. The tape loads normally, as
far as I can tell.

I see. OK, will twiddle that know.

Um.... has the default setting of this parameter been changed in 2.4.x
(compared to 2.2.x and older) ?

AFAICT mtx-changer completes normally, but I will test this.
