BackupPC doesn't see any shares, per se, but the SMB transport sees
shares.  It sees the implicit share C$ differently than an explicit C
share only insofar as different permissions or options have been set up
for either one.  You can often (but not *always* count on the implicit
share being available, whereas any explicit shares would need to be ...
explicitly shared.

So there may be no difference at all, and there may be a lot of
difference.  The dollar sign in the implicit share may provide some
semantic angst, but that's it, really.
