There are a few clues here that may help indicate what's wrong; I assume
you've tried it from the command line?  What were the results?

Start with what's going on with this file.  Is it named in a character set
different from your localization settings?  Is there something else
unusual about this file?  Are your running out of disk space?

Generally, when I see this, it's a character set issue.  Your results may
vary, of course.  I'll note that if you're sharing Dropbox files across
platforms and language using different localization settings, it's pretty
easy to generate filenames that give fits to language settings for which
they're not valid.
