[BackupPC-users] Backuppc and ipv6
2013-06-19 10:38:00
Hi,
It seems like I solved my problem with backuppc + ipv6 during the time I
wrote this mail. But, if this helps anyone else - here it is anyway.
I just moved a config from a Backuppc 3.1.0 (Debian 6) to a Ubuntu 12.04
server (backuppc 3.2.1).
Now I get "no ping response" on all hosts with AAAA-records. I found a
new variable in the config that seemed related in the default config:
$Conf{Ping6Path} = '';
If this was set to '/bin/ping6' - everything worked.
There seems to be a bug confirmed for Ubuntu 12.04 about this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/backuppc/+bug/782890
One thing I think is wrong with the webgui is that in the main config:
"Edit config" -> "Server"
Ping6Path is not present and cannot be set. Also, in the help if you
click on PingPath this setting isn't mentioned. No option in the webgui
to override the ping6-command for a specific host either. (If Ping6Path
is set in the config.pl everything works so I consider this minor.)
Happy ipv6:ing! :-)
