Afternoon,

I've created a Macports BackupPC install. This will:

-  build backuppc and all dependencies including stand alone instance  
of apache2/mod_perl2 that runs on port 8080 by default.
- creates a dedicated backuppc user & group
- Installs two launchd scripts for the backuppc and httpd daemons
- Installs "extras" which provide httpd auth digest examples, a script  
to automatically configure osx tiger/leopard clients,

TODO:

- Have the backuppc httpd auth against apples LDAP (both local and  
remote). If anyone has a working implementation of this, I'd  
appreciate sending it my way. Could save some time.
- Backup registration form where users can apply for a backup account  
via an email for and on approval have their account setup with sane  
defaults.
