Since two days one of my backup machine stay frozen with no error
message !?

I use BPC 3.1.0 on Debian Etch and on the remote machine we use rsync
version 2.6.8, it seems the remote rsync stop to send but the
connection stay open. The remote dir where the backup stop is 640Mb
of size.

This problem occurred two days ago before I had no problem and all
the others backups work fine.

Are these machines on the same network? Rsync can have long idle
periods in the transfer that might make some NAT/firewall devices time
out and drop the connection. That should be rare, but it has been
mentioned before.

The both machine are on Internet with 100Mb lines and that worked fine
two days ago !

What about firewalls or NAT devices between them?

Just firewall on each machines with the rsync and ssh port opened, no NAT at all.

There is no rsync activity on remote host for 3 hours...

Sam.
