page. But I imagine there is a version there by default that I wasn't able to find because of path issues, maybe.

The configure command, just for reference, is ./configure --with-user=amanda --with-group=sys --with-udpportrange=932,948 --with-tcpportrange=10084,10100 --with-gtar=/usr/sfw/bin/gtar

Just one quick point to note. I found that /usr/sfw/bin/gtar was version 1.14 (Solaris 10 5/08). Amanda wiki recommends 1.15 or newer. Sunfreeware provides 1.20, which would then be in /usr/local/bin/tar.

You are right - and I did install it, now to find out why it

doesn't seem to want to run... missing a library, shouldn't be a big deal.

It needs libiconv.
