Hello all,
Is there any documentation available discussing backwards
compatibility of 2.5.0p2? I am testing a new amanda backup server.
The old server had 2.4.5p1 and the new server has 2.5.0p2.
I have various versions of the client on my backup targets. Some of
these are rather hard to upgrade at this point because of legacy
OSes. I have the following clients: 2.4.3, 2.4.4p1, 2.4.4p2,
2.4.4p4, 2.4.5, 2.4.5p1, 2.5.0p2, 2.5.2. All of these clients worked
reliably with the 2.4.5p1 server. Under the test 2.5.0p2 server, with
the same config as the older server, I get the following errors:
2.4.3 fails the client check with a timeout waiting for ACK
2.4.4p1 and 2.4.4p2 fail with "hmm, disk was stranded on waitq"
One 2.5.0p2 client and the only 2.5.2 client both had estimate
timeouts (may be unrelated)
On the other hand, 2.4.4p4, 2.4.5, 2.4.5p1, and the other 2.5.0p2
clients all worked.
I'm just curious if these are known incompatibilities or something
specific to my setup I need to look into further.
