According to the error message Amanda is just picking up the hostname to
authenticate with and not the FQDN
(I'm not sure how it requests the name from the system, if it uses the hosts
file, dns, or what). The error
message will always contain what it is trying to match in your .amandahosts,
just put whatever follows the
'@' first, followed by the username preceding the '@'.
Change your .amandahosts to:
mail backup
and it should work.
