Hello!

We're running amanda-2.4.4p1-1 on the server and amanda-2.4.4p1-0.3E on
this specific client, which causes the problems.

The backup seems to work, but only for one DLE entry on that client. All
other DLEs for that client (although they're on the same filesystem)
fail because of "/bin/tar got signal 13". I don't believe, this is a
timeout problem, since dtimeout (standard value is 1800) is much higher
than the period of time elapsed, till the error occured.

Suspicious things I found:

- In /var/log/messages (see attachment "schatten_messages") just above
the "sendbackup"-entry I get strange error messages about connecting to
an ldap-server. We're using LDAP at our site, but I can see no
significant reason, why gtar needs this, since all users used by Amanda
are local in /etc/passwd and /etc/group. nsswitch.conf is configured
correctly (file before ldap).

- The partition related to the DLEs is mounted as ext2 although "dmesg"
tells me that this partition is originally ext3. I don't think, this can
be a reason for the problem, because it should be possible to mount ext3
filesystems as ext2.

I've also attached one example of a sendbackup-log.

I hope, somebody on this list can help!

Bye,
Simon
