If you're using amanda 2.4.3 or later, look in the man page
for "dumporder":

The default dumporder is "tttTTTTTTT" (for 10 dumpers). Changing
it to "SSSSSSSS" (adapting the length of the string to the number
of dumpers, of course) will help; maybe you need to lowering the
number of dumpers too.
