Ok, here are some more details regarding my planne rproblem. Im running
Amanda 2.4.4p1 on both client and server. Both are Debian linux machines
running the current stable version of Debian. The amcheck program returns
no problems but when I run a dump, it fails because the server doesnt
receive any initial estimate of the size of disks to be backed up. I see
tar running on the client machine (flamingo). Ive increased etimeout in
amanda.conf to a very large number. As before, other client machines work
fine. Now Ill show some log excerpts. Any help is greatly appreciated.
After the failed backup attempt, I see this in the /tmp/amanda logs.
In /etc/inetd.conf, I have
amanda dgram udp wait backup /usr/local/amanda/libexec/amandad amandad
I have kill HUPed the inetd.
In the last amandad log, I see
