I'm somewhat guessing here, but the error is that it ran out of tape.  
Do you have a filesystem that is bigger than a tape?  I ask because 
while amanda can spread a backup run across several tapes, the 
individual DLE must be smaller than a tape.  Breaking up DLE's into 
smaller pieces, none of which is more than 1/4 to 1/2 a tape is 
always a good idea.  That gives the scheduler a chance to be more 
selective when re-ordering things to equalize the tape use per run.

Also, the re-ordering may take more than one dumpcycle after adjusting 
things to see the full effects of the adjustment.
