Easy.

/usr/lib/amanda/chg-zd-mtx is just a shell script that sets $PATH.

chg-zd-mtx is telling you that mtx is not in that path.  For a quick
fix, just copy your mtx binary to libexec.

mtx is searched for at configure time ('egrep mtx config.cache').
Either you installed mtx after you built amanda, or moved it
afterward, or...
