Well, if you can read mine, we're going to be ok. :)

Unless you goto extreme lengths to convince amanda to do only full
backups on that exact day, you will not have a single tape to
archive.

Amanda tries to adjust the backup scheduleing of each entry in the
disklist such that about the same amount of tape is used each
night. This means that while you are guaranteed that everything
will be given a full level 0 backup in each dumpcycle, you don't
have that fine grained control. Level 0's and incrementals are
mixed on each tape, so you would have to take a full runspercycle
number of tapes out of circulation at the end of each month in
order to assure that you actually have captured a full, level 0,
image of the system. Even then you'll have miss-matches because
/bin got a level 0 on tuesday, but /etc got it on thursday. This
isn't a huge problem if all runspercycle tapes are restored from in
the natural order.

I don't do that here as this is a home environment, but I do run a
tapecycle thats about 3.5 times the dumpcycle. DDS2 tapes are dirt
cheap on ebay. :-)
