Hello amanda-users,

It is my understanding that Amanda cannot span tapes when doing a
backup.

I'm curious as to what people are doing when they have a backup which
will span more than one tape.

Amanda can't span tapes with a single disklist entry (DLE), but can use
multiple tapes on a single backup run. If you have a disk larger than a
tape, use GNU tar to backup individual subdirectories. You might also
want a DLE for the top-level directory that excludes the subdirectories
that you listed separately, so that new subdirectories will still be backed
up even if you forget to add them to your disklist.
