I was getting ready to reinstall amanda on our backup server when I got an
email from amanda saying that the nightly backup had finished! Got the report
and everyhting.

Here's the the story in a nutshell: amcheck times out, but amdump runs
perfectly!!!

Can you guys beleive that!?! This same *exact* thing happened to me once
before, but one of the developers on the list said it wasn't possible because
amcheck and amdump did the same thing. Well, this is the second time it has
happened to me. I can send log file info showing where amcheck fails and where
amdump doesn't fail only hours after amcheck does.

Anyway, at least I don't have to reinstall amanda. It would be nice if amcheck
worked, really nice, but it isn't mandatory.
