I find out the DBA did not use catalog on the Oracle database side, instead
he uses control files for the db backups, but because of this, we cannot
sync the tivoli side backup, and removing data outside the retention time
will have to be done manually.  While he is creating a new database backup
using the catalog this time, I need to get rid of all those unneeded backup
data. I either delete it manually, not sure if this is possible on the TSM
Server side,( almost think it is not possible)  or redirect the new backups
to a different FSID, then give it sometime, then I can just delete the
obsolete FSID. Not sure if this is possible at all. Thank you for your help
in advance.

Two ways.

1) Rename existing FS on tsm server

2) Change Client TDPO.opt fs name

This may create recovery challenges on the pre-exsting name with RMAN
...
