Hi all,
Thanks for your responses. I managed to identify the problem. In fact, what
happened was that I was on leave for about one week and we have a problem with
one of the drives on the tape library. After replacement, IBM guy requested the
backup system administrator to test the drive by doing a unix OS backup.
Unfortunately the administrator just grabbed that particular tape, loaded it in
the drive and run the backup command ...... No further details required , you
can imagine the rest ...
Thanks anyway

Hi,
I have got some very critical data o a volume. However , when I try to
checkin the tape, I am getting the folw error msg:
ANR8353E 001: I/O error reading label of volume in drive DRIVE0
(/dev/rmt1).
The dive is operating fine with all other volumes except this one.
Can anyone suggest how I can recover the data on the tape, please
