Sorry to bother you with aforementioned product, but responsible person
seems to be away for some days, and I need urgent response ...
I just installed it on my machine and find it very helpful for certain
purposes, like automatic notification on failed events, detailed
reports, etc... (something you could do on your own, but with much more
pain !)
I just would like to know if some IBM'er here could tell me if this
product will still be free in it's final version, or part of TSM
distribution, or if I'll have to open (again) my wallet for it.

This note is to let you know that there is a technology preview
available for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager operational reporting.
TSM operational reporting is a simple tool designed to help you keep TSM
running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. It runs on Windows and supports
TSM
servers on all platforms. You can find a detailed description and
download information by going to:

or if there are any problems with that link you can go to your favorite
IBM web site, for example:

and enter the following number into the search field: 4004874 Then
click on the Operational Reporting Preview link.
You will be prompted for an IBM registration ID and you can request one
at that time if needed.
Please note that the technology preview is unsupported and is subject to
change. The license agreement that is displayed during setup provides
detailed information related to this.
All questions and feedback should be directed to opreport AT us.ibm DOT com as
ADSM-L will not be monitored for this purpose. A best effort will be
made to acknowledge receipt for all mail received at the opreport
address. Note that response time will likely be slow for the next two
weeks but it will pick up after that.
A small user's guide will be made available on the technology preview
web page by the end of day on the 15th. There are a couple of small
updates that are required for using the default reports for TSM servers
running on OS390 and PACE and the information will be available in that
document. There is a walk through presentation available now and it
provides a good introduction to getting operational reporting up and
running.
