Ive had similiar problems this week on ADSM 3.1.2.50 on AIX 4.2.1
 Atape.driver               5.0.1.0  COMMITTED  IBM AIX Enhanced Tape and
 atldd.driver               4.0.7.0  COMMITTED  IBM Automated Tape Library
3494 library - 3590B drives. The server crashed while doing a reclamation
with the following error
01/11/2000 10:16:38  ANR1041I Space reclamation ended for volume SP0233.
01/11/2000 10:17:10  ANR8337I 3590 volume SP0276 mounted in drive 3590_DR6
                      (/dev/rmt6).
01/11/2000 10:17:24  ANR9999D afmigr.c(2805): Error deleting transaction for
0
                      bytes moved reclamation - volume SP0233.
01/11/2000 11:11:19  ANR1413W Volume SP0267 access mode is "read-only"

The server crashed around 10:17 am and was restarted at 11:11, there were 4
drives in use with 3590 tapes mounted, none of which were reconized by the
server, the drives were online, but it didnt know the drives were mounted.
We had to physically umount them and check them back into the library.
