I have done pretty much the same process you have indicated to move to a new
server (twice for upgrades and multiple times for DR testing) and it works
fine.  Only issue I would raise is, it may make sense to upgrade the ADSM
software level on the original system to the 3.1.2.40 server to eliminate
that as a problem area if problems are encountered with the move.
