Here we go again.  To boost sagging Tivoli sales, IBM will run a good
product (ADSM) into the ground by letting Tivoli take over a product.
Another great move....

     ___Tivoli Inherits IBM Storage Application___
     IBM says it plans to transfer its Adstar Distributed Storage Manager
     application from its storage systems division to its Tivoli Systems
     Inc. subsidiary on Jan. 1.
     The move is intended to allow Tivoli to integrate ADSM into its
     systems-management software--and to promise enterprise customers a
     single platform from which they can better manage networked systems
     and storage devices. ADSM handles enterprisewide network backup,
     archiving, storage management, and disaster-recovery planning.
     The move also demonstrates IBM's seriousness about infiltrating the
     fast-growing storage market. The company says Tivoli will make new
     investments in storage solutions, including storage area networks.
