Hi Leandro,

take at least a couple or more of DB backup's with backup db
take all the exports as usual.
take a backup of devconfig and volhist.
take a soft copy listing of all possible queries incase you need
With this you should be able to come back in case you wish to.

Now for the main step.

1) generally people go in step by step. that is one version at a time
2)Stop the server process
2) If possible download version 2 and install through smit or any utility as
required by your Operating system. Generally the upgrade procedure would be
mentioned in the README files.
3) dsmserv upgradedb.
4) This might take only a couple of minutes but you can wait a while to be
sure.
5) you might need to crosscheck again the dsm.opt and dsmserv.opt files. It
might point to LocalSrv. you would figure out a way for that
6) REstart the server process as was the case with version 1 and version 2.
i.e. /usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/rc.adsmserv
7)Then Go in for version 3 the same way.
8) alternatively you can also try version 3 directly, Because you would have
already taken the precaution of falling back.

However my advice is not to fall for this emergency trap. plan it out. It
would take at least a day or Two.

Best of Luck

Sri
