Another thing I've learned about DLT vs Magstar.  While the driver
performance numbers appear similar, in my limited experience with Magstar,
both MP and regular (sort of like saying redshirt freshman and true
freshman, but I digress), appear to be much faster.  Tape to tape and disk
to tape transfer rates are very fast when I compare them to my experiences
with DLT.  I recently witnessed a ~200 GB tape to tape.  My experience with
DLT would indicate a good bit of time do accomplish this.  With 3590, five
hours.  I would not have believed this had I not seen it.

So, for applications where you need to move a lot of data (disk to tape
migration and stg pool backup) perhaps Magstar wins.
